Silver City Surfers Coordinator
The Silver City Surfers (SCS) is a charity that provides free one-to-one tutoring for older people, in how to use technology and surf the Internet safely. Our sessions link a social aspect with learning in a supportive and encouraging environment tailored to the individual, where people feel comfortable learning something new.
We are looking for an enthusiastic person who has experience of working with volunteers and possibly adult learners; is self-motivated and who can motivate others; and who has excellent organisational skills.
You will be responsible for the recruitment and management of volunteers, who are the backbone of our organisation, and the organisation of the Internet café/outreach sessions as welcoming learning spaces.
You will be paid on a contractual basis, hourly rate negotiable; working for a minimum of 13 hours per week. The position is available for 6 months in the first instance with a prospect of further work following review.
